Established by a Royal Charter in 1880, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has over 130,000 members in more than 160 countries to admit professional accountants after rigorous entrance exmination. Members of ICAEW are known as 'Chartered Accountants'.
