YWCA Green Bay-De Pere is a non-profit human services agency dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. For over 90 years, the YWCA has been committed to improving the quality of life for everyone in our community, especially women, children and families in need or in crisis.
YWCA operates several programs that provide valuable services to our community. The Women’s Closet serves economically disadvantaged women with free work-appropriate clothing. The ENCORE program offers therapeutic water exercises designed to help patients regain flexibility and strength after surgery. TechGYRLS is an after school program launched in November 2009 for middle school girls with an existing interest in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering and math). Swim-to-Grow extends life-saving swimming lessons to children who otherwise could not afford lessons at two at-risk schools.
Last year, YWCA Green Bay-De Pere served over 7,000 women and children through a variety of services focused on women’s empowerment and youth development, particularly for those who are at-risk, low-income or in need. YWCA also supports the health and well-being of women and children with a Health & Fitness Training Center and two 88 degree pools that accommodate all ages and abilities and classes of all types.
