Warm Heart is a community development organization that provides children's homes, computer and English education, microenterprise programs, public health and clean water projects to one of the poorest districts in northern Thailand.
In a district with 54,000 people and 4 doctors Warm Heart provides clinics with volunteer nurses, docs & IT support & emergency clinics and EMT trainings in mountain villages.
The Microenterprise Project offers business ed & opportunities to Phrao, including training in coffee & silk cultivation, spinning, natural dyeing & weaving, & local and US retail markets for artisans.
Warm Heart Education offers Head Start Programs for children living in mountain villages & after school, English, & public computer classes.
Warm Heart Water provides water filtration & irrigation systems.
Warm Heart Children's Homes provide a safe space for 21 children from isolated villages without schools. Our farm provides the fish ponds, chickens, ducks, orchards & gardens to feed them. Pigs provide meat & the biogas we cook on.
Phrao Public Power Co., Ltd., Warm Heart's clean energy spin-off is constructing a biomass power plant.
Volunteering:
We welcome volunteers of all ages and nationalities who bring both skills & commitment. We do not have make-work jobs, but require volunteers able to commit for 3 months who bring real professional skills.
