The Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee was in 1973 and it was based in the belief that Volunteerism is vital to the health of our community and to us as individuals.
Our mission is to support & increase effective volunteerism in Greater Milwaukee.
Our main channel is our website www.volunteermilwaukee.org where at any given time more than 300 Milwaukee nonprofits list nearly 1,000 volunteer opportunities.
There are opportunities for everyone, no matter your age, physical ability or skill set. You can volunteer!
The Volunteer Center also hosts programs such as:
Volunteer Celebration, nominations are made for outstanding community volunteers. Winning nominees are given an award at our Inspire By Example luncheon and the nonprofit they volunteer for is given $500.
Our Make a Difference Day program in collaboration with Interfaith gets senior's homes ready for winter with the help of more than 2,000 volunteers.
Our Giving Tree program connects givers with those in need at the Holiday's to secure gifts for more than 13,000 individuals who might otherwise receive nothing. These gifts go to children, the homeless, refugees, the handicapped, the elderly and other vulnerable or impoverished persons.
The Volunteer Center is a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee.
