What Vestas employees are saying...

I can truly say that I enjoy coming to work every single day. Vestas is a great company where you both can and will be challenged as part of everyday work. For me this is one of the best things about Vestas. Working here, I’ve always known that my manager believes in me and will challenge me in order for me to be able to perform at my very best. Great joy for me personally but also for the benefit of Vestas. People are the backbone of the company and we go to great lengths to nurse and develop our employees. During my 6 years with the company, I have finished an MBA, passed a project management education and are now working as Project manager on the greatest projects ever; the V164.

I work in Vestas Technology R&D., department of Loads, Aerodynamic and Control and we are responsible for delivering cutting-edge technologies to optimize and control the wind turbines. Every day brings new challenges, demanding us to come up with new solutions and as a researcher that is all I can dream of. Going to work has never been so satisfying!

Working for Vestas has fast-tracked my professional and personal development in a creative, fun and challenging way. With a constant changing and dynamic multi-cultural organization, you are guaranteed an exciting working day, but also a very steep learning curve. Internally there is a saying that 2 years in Vestas is equal to 10 years in any other company. After working here 1½ years, I know that this is not only true, it’s also the key to my daily development.

Before joining Vestas, I worked for 18 years in the French Air Force; first as an aircraft technician, then as team leader and finally training coordinator. Wishing to change my career path, I decided that continuous work with technology and technical issues particularly within rotor technology, air and wind would provide me the most interesting development opportunities. That’s why in 2006, I came to the wind energy industry as a site supervisor for Vestas. I’m currently working as an installation manager, managing between 15 and 30 site managers, supervisors and assistants.

Being a Senior Specialist in Quality working on the implementation of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) on the V112 Program in Nacelles is a fantastic job. The cross-organisational cooperation around Quality between Vestas Technology, the Production BUs and the Sales BUs is so important because we can prevent major breakdowns in the field – just by defining the right product and process Critical-To-Qualitys and thereafter monitoring accordingly at the shop floor and designing in quality before the first part is made. It is so simple and yet it has such a big effect when implemented. The promise and possibilities of improvement at Vestas is what makes being here so very exciting. A big, multinational, environmentally conscience and leading company with a small start-up feel and entrepreneurial spirit. It is all at Vestas!
