Our current application is in oil and gas. DrillEdge™ technology is a real-time intervention tool that predicts critical drilling problems in advance and helps resolve them through customer-defined best practices. The technology is constructed on the principle of case-based reasoning, a method building on the simple premise that similar problems have similar solutions. This immediate intervention-while-drilling response provides a very thorough, fast and practical real-time bridge between past experience and current operations that reduces risk and non-productive time, while improving drilling performance.
