I started working with Travelex Global Business Payments (TGBP), A Western Union Company, in 1999 as a Customer Service Representative taking calls from banks in North America requesting bank notes for their clients. Since then I have moved to Regional Account Manager, then National Account Manager and currently I’m the VP of Sales in Canada. TGBP thrives on promoting any opportunity to advance the careers of their employees and develop their staff to move up the corporate ladder. For me personally, I have been given every opportunity to expand my knowledge base and mentor those waiting in the wings. We have become one big family. The best part of the company is the people – I get along with everyone from management to front line staff.

Every job has its ups and downs but when you work with such a great bunch of people it makes it all so much more palatable when times are a bit tougher than normal. I can't think of a day in recent history that I didn't have a belly laugh at least once a day with a colleague. I'm also encouraged every day by the freedom I am given to continue doing what I do best, but also by the support and advice of others - both Managers and colleagues alike. The hierarchy is also quite fluid and Senior Management always has time to listen to anyone of any level with something valid to contribute. That encourages and inspires me in my job. That's a pretty good endorsement and indication of what a great place it is to work.

I think that for me the best part is the fact that I feel that I am part of this one big good team which manages to overcome many challenges. The main reasons we're able to overcome challenges is because the company enables you to develop your career skills and helps you to become a true professional. TGBP gives you all the resources you need so that you are able to give your maximum output. Then TGBP acknowledges your efforts and hard work - which is also very rewarding.
