Tintri’s signature product, Tintri VMstore, is a storage appliance specifically architected for virtual machines. Tintri VMstore is an 8.5 TB hardware appliance that is designed to efficiently support multi-gigabyte to terabyte virtual disk files, and is tuned to handle many concurrent reads and writes within the same virtual disk. Tintri aims to reduce the cost and complexity associated with storage for VMs with a custom-architected, “VM-aware” storage appliance.
The company is based in Mountain View, CA and was founded by CEO Kieran Harty and Lead Architect Mark Gritter in 2008. Tintri is founded by NEA Ventures and Lightspeed Partners.
