Think of Others (http://www.thinkofothers.org) represents the resources we can raise as a group of people of Indian origin who got a chance to come to US and make a better living. In order to improve image of our community and express our gratitude to the opportunity given to us, we will contribute something to the common pool from where we can disburse money to various charities in US and India based on the needs at a particular time. It is important that charities in US understand what we give it to them is from people of Indian origin. This will give us some direction in our giving and streamlined approach in working for common social issues affecting us today.
Think of Others is a federal 501(3)(c) charitable organization (FEIN 27-3012333) and donation to the organization are tax deductible to US tax payers from US federal income taxes, as permitted by the law.
People of Indian origin who migrated to US are doing a phenomenal job. Whether working with software, having own motel or sandwich shop, working as doctor or engineer, we have come a long way. We all know it is result of our intelligence, hard work and to a large extent our luck helped us to get where we are today. We acted miser, always looked for deals, saved every penny we can, build big homes, threw weekend parties, send our kids to best schools. We forgot one important thing in the process. We owe something to this country which gave us a better life where our future lies and where our children are growing.
