The Eastern Golf Club dates back to 1896 when the Surrey Hills Golf Club was formed at Mont Albert. This Club was disbanded in 1914 at the outbreak of the war and at this time a small group of friends leased the property "Tullamore" in Doncaster and formed The Eastern Golf Club.
An 18 hole course was laid out amid the surrounding orchard by the leading golf architect of the day, Sam Berriman. In 1924 The Eastern Golf Club was formed in Doncaster.
In 1941 the then Eastern Golf Club moved to a new course at East Oakleigh and formed Huntingdale Golf Club and The Eastern Golf Club was reformed in 1944 at its present site.
The course is a challenging 18 hole par 71 set amongst long established native trees with an abundance of bird life adding to its charm and character the course provides an excellent and enjoyable test for all golfers.
