Product Overview
Adesso is a software platform that runs in online and offline mode and can be used to rapidly build and deploy digital inspection forms and data collection software applications. We offer a highly scalable, robust synchronization engine for Microsoft SQL Server which contains a very precise level of granularity for establishing user and user group permissions and sync settings. The software platform allows for the development of complex forms with complex business rules using an application designer interface that is simple to use and learn. If you know your way around Microsoft Access, you will certainly know your way around Adesso in a matter of a few days.
Because Adesso Client runs in offline mode, you can build custom applications for use in areas and places with no Internet connectivity and use Adesso's robust synchronization engine to transmit that data to decision makers as soon as connectivity is established. Once data are synced to the Adesso Server, the data are available to other users/subscribers of the application via the Adesso Client software, a web browser connection (Adesso Web Client and Adesso Web Dashboard), and ruggedized portable devices. Print forms in very specific formats can be created, and functions that go beyond the native capability of Adesso can be performed by using Adesso's plugin architecture.

Adesso is a great tool for quickly deploying digital versions of data collection forms. Beyond this, Adesso offers a strong design centric approach to mobile application development with a large array of built-in controls to capture a variety of data. We have used Adesso on a few projects and continue to demo solutions to clients. We used Adesso for creation of a database application that was used to fulfill a US Army Corps of Engineers - Louisville District task order that entailed identification of the three dominant grass species present at over 8,000 acres of land. The application was built in a matter of a few days at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent system built in ArcPad. The application essentially re-created the Nature Conservancy's National Vegetation Classification System, complete with GPS capture, grass species list, and other criteria. The software was easy to use, and we had 4 teams of 2 people each collecting data on handheld devices in remote places all day long for two weeks. This was done in the spring and subsequently in the fall. Synchronization and export to ArcGIS was done daily, so our team always had an updated map as the field teams did their work. Upon completion of the project, we had over 7,000 plot records. I highly recommend this software for projects requiring lots of data collection in places where internet connectivity is an issue.- May 4, 2011
