The Consulate General of Sweden in New York opened in January 2010, following the closing of the former Consulate General in December 2009. The new Consulate provides assistance to Swedes, as well as to foreign nationals applying for Swedish visas and residence/work permits. The Consulate also conducts cultural, commercial and public affairs to promote Swedish interests in the New York area.
