STC.UNM (STC) is a nonprofit corporation formed by and owned entirely by the University of New Mexico (UNM) (formed in 1995 by the Regents of UNM) to protect and transfer its faculty inventions to the commercial marketplace. STC licenses innovative technology developed at UNM, including optics, microfluidics, and high performance materials as well as therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, and drug discovery tools.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with an independent board of directors. We work closely with UNM's Research and Technology Law (R&TL) office and the University Counsel's office in the management and administration of their responsibilities.
STC's staff is business-oriented, and dedicated to finding the best technology solutions for your business. At STC, we focus on company needs first and work to help our companies succeed. We consider our licensees to be our partners. Our full-time job is to understand the potential market applications of the wide range of technologies developed at UNM and efficiently get them to companies that can commercialize them. Unlike some other programs associated with universities, we're flexible, easy to work with, and interested in your needs.
Both the Life Sciences Technologies Portfolio and the Physical Sciences Technologies Portfolio are managed by STC and contain the most current listings of life and physical sciences intellectual property available for licensing.
