St Peter's by the Waterfront is a heritage centre formed in the ancient mariners church of St Peter's in Ipswich. As well as being a heritage centre St Peter's is also a concert, exhibition and conferencing venue available for hire throughout the year.
The centre features regular music and theatrical performances from various local and national groups including the resident groups, the Ipswich Hospital Band, St Peter's Band, Suffolk School of Samba and Ipswich Youth Steel Band who all use the facilities for weekly rehearsals.
The heritage centre features unique displays including the Ipswich Millennium Charter Hangings and a rare Tournai marble font in place since the 12th century.
The centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3.30pm between May and September and on Wednesdays from 10am to 3.30pm the rest of the year. We will also begin opening on the first Saturday of the month from October 2011.
