Silicon Publishing, Inc. develops and supports publishing applications based around Adobe Scene7 and InDesign Server. We have worked closely with Adobe Systems, Inc. over the past 12 years, and they continue to be a strong partner, client, and source of some of the coolest publishing technology available today.
Silicon Publishing has a deep interest in document-centric XML, and our founder and President, Max Dunn, wrote the Adobe-sponsored chapter of the XML Handbook with Charles Goldfarb in 2003. The subject of that chapter, WYSIWYG XML Authoring, is a core interest, both in print-centric (InDesign, Scene7 Web to Print) and web-centric (Flex, HTML5, iPhone, Scene7 Imaging) domains.
We currently market three software products:
(1) Silicon Designer, which lets you design and edit rich media content through Flash or HTML5, rendering print output through Adobe Scene7 or InDesign Server
(2) Silicon Paginator, which automates the generation of web and print content from XML or relational data sources
(3) Silicon Connector, a tool which connects Adobe InDesign to web-based resources such as DAMs, across http.
We also partner with Leximation to offer DITA-FMx, a plugin for FrameMaker that extends DITA support. Our specialties include: InDesign Server, data-generated typesetting, XML architecture and programming, Internet development, and publishing-related writing and speaking.
