Satalia, the trading name for NPComplete Ltd., provides products to customers that need to solve difficult optimization problems. Satalia’s core product, the ‘Solve Engine’ combines a managed portfolio of algorithms with proprietary IP and has been designed to run seamlessly from within a customer’s existing problem management tool.
Due to the intensive computational demands of the solver, the product is ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) meaning that customer problems are submitted to a high performance computing grid (or the ‘cloud’) to be solved. The grid may be either managed by Satalia or behind a customer’s firewall. The company is a spin-out of University College London and maintains close links with academia as part of its strategy to be a conduit for state of the art research in optimization to industry.
Satalia’s mission is to be the engine of choice in any optimization-dependent solve process. Industries using such processes today include software verification, chip design verification, defence, aerospace, automotive and bioinformatics.
