Samasource connects women, youth, and refugees to paying work, and, in parallel, provides high-quality services to customers around the world.
Samasource derives its name from the Sanskrit word sama, which means “equal." Our mission is to reduce poverty by reducing unemployment among some of the world's most marginalized people. Samasource delivers data services, transcription and captioning, testing, and virtual assistance from 23 digital work centers in nine countries, staffed with motivated people able to complete projects on a 24/7 basis. Our clients range from low-income entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies.
Samasource is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social business. Our management team and global advisory board have deep experience in technology and social and economic development with institutions such as the Mayfield Fund, the Ford and Clinton Foundations, and the World Bank.
Samasource is supported by the Rockefeller, Kapor, Mulago, and Templeton Foundations and based in San Francisco.
