Rhythm & Hues has received first place awards from virtually all of the major competitions that recognize excellence in computer graphics, including two Academy Awards® for Achievement in Visual Effects for THE GOLDEN COMPASS (2008) and BABE (1995). R&H was nominated in the same category for THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, and contributed significant animation to HAPPY FEET, which received the Oscar® for Best Animated Feature (2006). In addition, the studio has received four Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and
Sciences (AMPAS).
Rhythm & Hues Studios’ origins date back to the beginnings of the computer graphics revolution of the late 1970's. Since its founding in Hollywood, California in1987, Rhythm & Hues has continually pushed the boundaries of the digital frontier, in service of both creative vision and production efficiency. Today, the studio is comprised of five interdependent facilities, with productions ongoing around the clock. The company headquarters are located in El Segundo, California, U.S.A. Satellite production facilities are located in Mumbai and Hyderabad, India; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Vancouver, Canada; Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
