Product Overview

‘Can we keep the game?’, a number of pupils at the Salto primary school in Eindhoven are asking eagerly. Volunteers from Philips have spent over three hours entertaining the children with the help of the educational Healthy Heroes game, exploring six themes relating to health and well-being. On October 6th, more than 800 volunteers went to 50 schools in underprivileged areas across the Netherlands to promote children's health and well-being during lesson time.

SimplyHealthy@Schools enables Philips employees around the world to give something back to the community by empowering school children to live healthier lives. In 2010 we will reach 25.000 students, going over 300 schools, involving around 5.000 employees from around the world.

With our global community program SimplyHealthy@Schools, we help improve children’s knowledge of healthy living by providing simple lessons about air, light, water and oral hygiene, as well as exercise and caring for the environment.

By re-vamping schools we improve learning conditions and help schools save energy. The tremendous impact lighting can have on people’s well-being , we are only beginning to unravel. The rhythm of day and night, the seasons and weather conditions create every-changing light situations. We can bring the dynamic character of light indoors, allowing school children and teachers alike to enjoy the beneficial effects of natural light on the human body.

We believe that children all around the world should be empowered to take their health and wellbeing into their own hands, and are educated to do so. Inspiring the next generation for a healthy lifestyle helps people around the world live healthier lives on a healthier planet.

It's great to see a global corporation like Philips supporting a CSR community employee program which help teachers to educate school children about how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
