It was the early 80’s and Bill Cole was enduring the telephone rant of another unsatisfied customer. Bill knew all too well that the epoxy and other harsh materials used to repair leaks would eventually fail or cause new cracks, putting customers back in the same predicament. That was simply the nature of the business at the time—temporary bandages, not permanent fixes.
As Bill listened, he fiddled with an elastic band, stretching and snapping it between his fingers when…AHA! The vision for a flexible resin—one that would give when foundations shift—PERMA-SEAL® was born.

PERMA-DRY Dampproofing should not be confused with waterproofing. Dampproofing protects foundation materials from absorbing ground moisture by capillarity. Dampproofing is not intended to resist groundwater forces (hydrostatic pressure). If water management (drainage) is used, waterproofing is not necessary. However, control of capillary water is still required. Damp proofing is typically provided by coating the exterior of a concrete foundation wall with a tar or bituminous coating. Draining groundwater away from foundation wall and from beneath the floor is crucial to keeping your basement dry.
