PDR was formed in 1985 by two brothers and their friend - Philip and Roger Gibbs, and David Lowrie - with its first system launched in 1987. During this time we have continually developed our machines and PDR is still at the forefront of rework technology with over 4000 installations worldwide.
We design and manufacture high quality rework systems, supplying them through a small network of highly skilled and responsive sales/support organisations, worldwide.

PDR Rework "Competitor X says that IR is a harsh heat and can damage components” This is a myth! Our systems are used daily on critical applications, where failure is not an option. Such as aerospace, medical and space. We use short/medium focused IR from the top and medium wave IR from the underneath to duplicate the temperature profiles used in the original production process. Medium wave IR preheats the PCB and prevents delamination, PCB warping and overcomes the heat sink effect of the ground planes. Because Focused IR acts like light it can be controlled instantaneously. Therefore we can follow a temperature profile better than any other reworking heating technology.
