The year 2011 marks the 21st anniversary of PC Training & Business College (PCT & BC) and outlines a new pathway for the Institution. Whilst it is a time for celebration, it is also time to capitalize on the improvements that were implemented over the last two years together with the realization of the capital Investment in the Education, Training & Skills Development (ETDS) sector in South Africa, which has peaked to R151. 4m in 2010.
The Institution, having made significant improvements in Quality Assurance, staffing, infrastructure, library resources, capacity development, etc, has experienced a realization of benefits in increased student enrolments, academic results, cash flow improvements and increased efficacies emerging primarily from economies of scale.
PCT & BC, being a hybrid provider, currently operates Higher Education (HET) and Further Education (FET) Campuses located across most major cities in South Africa. Post School Education qualifications are offered at National FET Certificate, Higher Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels in the fields of Information and Communications Technology and Business & Management Sciences. PCT & BC has a proud track record with over 130 000 learners completing a range of programmes and qualifications in its twenty one year history.
Further Education qualifications include SETA programmes from FASSET, Services SETA and ISETT SETA. Associated companies offer programmes from ETDP Seta, THETHA and others. NVC qualifications are also being piloted at certain accredited sites. No FET legacy qualifications are offered by the Institution. The Institution also offers a range of skills programmes and learnerships, which are unit standard based. The Institution has also been selected by UMALUSI for piloting “full accreditation” for its FET Sites.
