Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) is specialist teacher development institute offering courses and qualifications for English language teachers at every stage of their career.
NILE runs professional development programmes for English language teachers, trainers and other education professionals, and modular MA, Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate courses in Professional Development for Language Education (in association with Leeds Metropolitan University). NILE also undertakes ELT consultancy work, short courses, seminars and workshops worldwide. NILE's sister company INTO TEFL runs CELTA and modular Delta courses validated by Cambridge ESOL.
Based in the historic city of Norwich, UK, NILE has run hundreds of courses for thousands of participants from over 60 different countries. Courses are both open-enrolment for individual applicants and tailor-made for closed groups, specially designed for education ministries, higher education institutions and other overseas organisations.
NILE has grown to become the biggest single providers of professional development courses for EL teachers, trainers and other education professionals in Europe. NILE was the first institute to be accredited by the British Council for the provision of teachers’ courses, which all involve a significant element of language improvement. All teacher training courses qualify for European LLP funding.
