Nordic Bioscience is a privately owned biotech company with operations in Herlev, Denmark, and Beijing, China. The company has all its business operations in medical research and has a strong commitment to the development of novel treatments and diagnostics for the improved management of patients with chronic, degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and cardiovascular diseases.
Nordic Bioscience was formed in 2001 through a merger of Osteometer BioTech and OSTEOPRO. This transaction combined more than ten years of diagnostic experience with unique early drug development programs, all within the area of osteoporosis. Through our dedicated R&D efforts, we brought state-of-the art bone and cartilage tests to the market and Nordic Bioscience now has a comprehensive preclinical and clinical drug development portfolio in bone and cartilage diseases.
Our clinical development program encompasses four, large phase III studies. With partner Novartis, we have 4500 postmenopausal women enrolled in a 3-year, multicentre clinical study investigating the safety and efficacy of a new oral formulation of calcitonin for treatment in osteoporosis. Also with Novartis, we have two, 2-year pivotal phase III clinical studies ongoing investigating the safety and efficacy of calcitonin for treatment of osteoarthritis in men and women.
Nordic Bioscience has 65 employees, of which 45 are directly involved in research in our headquarter in Herlev and in Beijing.
