In addition, NIKE provides licenses to produce and sell NIKE brand swimwear, cycling apparel, children’s clothing, school supplies, electronic devices, eyewear, golf accessories, and belts. Further, it manufactures and distributes ice skates, skate blades, protective gear, hockey sticks, licensed and team apparel, and accessories. The company sells its products to retail accounts, through its owned retail stores, and through a mix of independent distributors and licensees, as well as through Internet Web site, nikestore.com. As of May 31, 2007, it operated 254 retail stores in the United States and 232 retail stores internationally. The company was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon.
