Midwest was founded in 1932 and operated until 1999 as a family-owned business. In 2002, the employees completed a purchase of the company from the Sanders family, making Midwest a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. We are proud that Midwest Mechanical was selected as one of Ingram's Magazine 2009 Best Places to Work in Kansas City and the 2009 Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine Best Contractor to Work For!
Midwest has one subsidiary company also located in KCMO; Midwest Mechanical Service, Inc. They were one of the first 11 mechanical service contractors to achieve the Mechanical Service Contractors Association (MSCA) GreenStar designation. This designation demonstrates the commitment to sustainablity and environmental responsibility of Midwest. Midwest Mechanical Service is also a Department of Energy, Energy Star Product and Service Provider. Midwest Mechanical Service is also a member of the USGBC.
