That sense of really ‘going places’ is what attracted me to Meltwater in the first place. I had two job offers at the same time, in 2005. One, at a big brand firm with 20,000 staff globally. And one for Meltwater; which had only 70 staff back then. I watched a Meltwater presentation at the London Graduate Fair and it struck me that I could either join something big … or build something big. Considering I had graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts, there was more than a sizeable learning curve involved after joining Meltwater. However, Meltwater began my business education from my very first day; I was learning so much about sales and development, and just as importantly, I was learning about working relationships. I’ve always felt that Meltwater were investing in me as a person, not just as a team member.

My advice to any new graduate is to find a company that allows you to prove yourself and then offers you the opportunities to take on active roles within the organisation. For me Meltwater is a company that listens to its employees and values them. And that is why we each individually feel like we are contributing to the company’s global success. When I started with the organisation Meltwater was still quite small. Today Meltwater is international — and its success is global. I think back to the things I wanted from my career after graduating, just four short years ago, andI have to say that Meltwater has given me every chance to fulfill those dreams.In some ways I feel as though I’ve grown as the company has grown. It’s been fast and it’s been exciting.

I would say Meltwater is a great place to start working immediately after graduation. When learning sales you develop key skills that are valuable almost regardless of what you will do at a later stage in your career. You learn to communicate, drive processes from start to end, teamwork and to be solution oriented. One of the things that I love about Meltwater – is that it is a challenging job, and once you master one thing, you will be presented with new challenges.
Besides, having the opportunity to work with inspiring people from both Europe and the US, seeing how the product is improving and developing, and working with developing sales methodologies and strategies have been, and still are, really cool!

I chose Meltwater because they emphasized that they were seeking out people with potential, and giving them responsibility quickly. With Meltwater if you're ready, you're given the responsibility and a lot of autonomy, whether you've been here one year or four years. Having a large impact on the strategic direction of our product lines is very exciting. Since joining Meltwater, as a sales consultant in the new Munich office in 2007, my ability to look at problems from all angles and devise new approaches and solutions has broadened dramatically.
