The London International Development Centre (LIDC) facilitates interdisciplinary research and training to tackle complex problems in international development by bringing together social and natural scientists from across the University of London's Bloomsbury Colleges:
Birkbeck, Institute of Education, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Royal Veterinary College, School of Oriental and African Studies.
LIDC runs a work work experience programme for postgraduate students and recent graduates of the University of London Bloomsbury Colleges.
Placements are part-time (3 hours a day) and run for one month. Interns help with press reviews, web communication, social media, liaising with membership, and events. The placement is offered on a volunteer basis, with lunch and travel expenses covered.
Candidates should have a good undergraduate degree in any subject and a documented interest in international development and communications. Prior office experience will be a distinct advantage.
