If necessity is the mother of invention, then we are her slingshot-packing step-children. Indie
film. Indie music. Why not indie commercial production?
Kontent began not as a business model, but as an artistic convergence. Five award-winning filmmakers (Sundance, Academy Awards, Clios, One Show) who bring big vision and low overhead to an industry sorely in need of both. As the radicals in Kollective director Sam Green's Oscar-nominated film "The Weather Underground" liked to say, you don't have to be a weatherman to know which way the wind's blowing.
Shrinking budgets? Exploding platforms? Hell yeah. Proprietary digital workflow and a religious indie ethos enable us to sherpa projects at double-take prices from production to post, inspired and in-house. Isn't that how it's supposed to be?
Whether your job start says traditional
broadcast, web vid, branded feature or short - we're agnostic. We believe in cinema and story. And how to work twice as creatively with half the line items. Our critically-acclaimed directors span the full range of genres - doc style, drama, comedy...So, yeah, we can do that.
We think our way is not just a matter of economics, but an awakening to a new paradigm of filmmaking. Step right up. Don't be shy.
