The Housing Services Corporation (HSC) is a nonprofit organization committed to delivering value-added services
that empower Ontario’s housing providers and municipal Service Managers to develop safe, affordable homes and communities.
HSC was created in 2002, under the Social Housing Reform Act, which directed HSC to manage group programs in bulk purchasing, insurance and the investment of pooled capital reserves. HSC also enhances the housing sector through the development of research, training and best practices.
Through consultations with its clients and stakeholder groups, HSC has, over time, identified business gaps and expanded its services. Today, HSC delivers programs in capital asset and energy management, technical and maintenance services, while also developing opportunities to advance social innovation and self-sufficiency for tenants.
HSC is governed by a board of directors that is made up of key stakeholders in the housing community, including Service Managers, housing providers and provincial representatives.
