  I have been using the Helic tools for the past six years. They have enabled my designers to use inductors in our CAD flow almost as seamlessly as using other passives such as resistors and capacitors. Using the Spiral Wizard, one can generate a coil of optimum Q , constrained to a requested inductance with fixed dimensions, in a matter of seconds. We have used Helic to design variable RF phase shifters, matching networks for RF amplifiers, filters, and chokes successfully up to 6 GHz.

  We recently started using the Helic tools to synthesize and extract spirals, transformers, splines, etc. Run time and capacity when compared to other tools is very fast with acceptable accuracy results vs silicon. In what takes other tools several minutes, to tens of minutes, VeloceRF & RaptorX take seconds. The integration with the Cadence environment is easy to use and the learning curve is not very steep. Technical support has been very good before and after the sale.

  Helic tools, integrated into RFIC design flow are essential for accurate modeling of on-chip tranmission line sturctures and planer inductors, baluns etc. As compared to other tools, Helic brings ease of use in generating integrated EM models without noticeable loss of accuracy and ease of modifying the layout and model-regeneration. Helic technical support is highly knowledgeable and responsive.

  VeloceRF is one of the best tools used to extract coil parameters. Therefore, I needed to design several planer coils in a limited space. VeloceRF gave me an accurate guideline for placement. Also, the extraction speed was fast enough to design in real time. In conclusion, I can't finish my recommendation without praising the great support team too.

  VerolceRF is an extremely powerful tool that can design complicated on-chip inductors as well as back-annotation for routing impedance including all RLC parasitic. Its performance has been proven in our tuner IC products for wideband LC-VCO, LC filters, back annotations of S-parameter between PLL and VCO and more. Also it was no stress to go proceed in the circuit simulation because of their simplicity in their netlists. It has an excellent integration into the Cadence Virtuoso design environment, user friendly and easy to use. This tool really led us to be successful designs and minimized a term to release to the mass production.

  VeloceRF is a critical tool for simulating inductors and high speed wires in our LC VCO and clocknet designs. The tool has proven to be quite accurate in terms of closure vs measurements, it has very good integration into Cadence design environment and has really user friendly interface. Furthermore, Helic has been quite responsive in terms of support and updates. We’ve been really happy with their customer service.
