The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) provides energy, land and water resources and manages programs that improve Georgia’s environment, protect its natural resources and promote economic development.
The Water Resources Division partners with local governments by providing loans for water, sewer and solid waste infrastructure improvements, and development of reservoir and water supply projects.
The Energy Resources Division promotes energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy assistance programs. These programs include the Weatherization Assistance Program, the Governor’s Energy Challenge, the State Energy Program, the State Utilities Program and Energy Assurance.
The Land Resources Division consists of the Georgia Land Conservation Program (GLCP) and the Fuel Storage Tank Program (FSTP). The GLCP offers grants, low-interest loans, technical support for fee title or conversation easement purchases, and manages the Georgia Conservation Tax Credit Program. The FSTP is responsible for installing, maintaining, upgrading, replacing or closing all state-owned fuel storage tanks.
