General Hotel is a small, family-run, conference hotel situated in a green area just south of Hønefoss, Norway. In our location you are 1 hour away from "everything"; OSL Gardermoen Airport, Oslo city center, Drammen, Kongsberg and Valdres. The hotel is close to the river Storelva and there is only a 10 minute drive to the vast forests of Nordmarka en Krogskogen. The Norwegian Army has had a camp in Helgelandsmoen since 1869 - hence our name. In 2004 the area was sold to private investors and in 2009 we opened General Hotel. Our last extension came in 2011.
As humans we are helpful, personal, in-formal and precise in our work.
Our kitchen is international - with French roots. The hotel also has an a la carte Italian trattoria.
Our building is typical modern Scandinavian design. In 2011 we built new conference halls which is tasetfully decorated and well equipped with modern technology. The guest rooms were new in 2009 and are both practical and comfortable - in line with today's demand.
Ringeriksbadet, Galleri Klevjer and M/S Dronning Tyra are our good neighbors that many of our guest visit. We also help our clients plan an adopt other activities
as relatively newly established - we can also compete on pricing!
