Fuel VFX was founded in 2000 by VFX Supervisors Paul Butterworth, Andrew Hellen, Simon Maddison, Dave Morley and Executive Producer Jason Bath. Having spent several years working together on various film and television projects in Sydney, they realised they shared the same vision - to build an innovative and energising studio of their own that could inspire both clients and crew.
Today, the five founders continue to work actively with clients and staff on a daily basis and employ over 100 artists, technicians and support staff. Fuel offers full-service visual effects, CG animation, motion design and post-production services including a dedicated colour-grading suite and boasts a cohesive, experienced team to help solve complex sequences.
Our feature film credits include PROMETHEUS, THE AVENGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, COWBOYS & ALIENS, THOR, IRON MAN 2, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, THE SPIRIT, ROGUE, and AUSTRALIA.
Commercial clients include agencies M&C Saatchi, Publicis Mojo, DDB, Clemenger BBDO, JWT, Euro RSCG and Production Companies Goodoil, Revolver, Plaza, Sheepish Lion, Photoplay, 8 Commercials and The Feds. Following our work on THE SPIRIT, we've continued our relationship with the legendary Frank Miller on multiple campaigns for Gucci fragrances via RSA London.
