e-skills UK is making sure the UK has the IT skills it needs to succeed in today’s global digital economy. We do this by taking our lead from employers and working with government, IT professionals and IT training providers. Our work covers software, internet, computer gaming, IT services and business change expertise.
As the Sector Skills Council for Business and Information Technology, our success is recognised by the outstanding rating given to us by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and National Audit Office in 2009.

e-skills UK David Willetts, Minister of State for Universities and Science, today launched the e-skills UK Higher Apprenticeship Programme, marking the beginning of Apprenticeship Week 2012. The e-skills UK Higher Apprenticeship Programme, supported by the National Apprenticeship Service, brings together more than 20 employers including BT, Capgemini, IBM, Ministry of Justice, UBS and Visa Europe. It will offer young people new routes into the IT industry, creating employer defined programmes of study which lead to highly skilled IT occupations. -
