Dukes-Moore Insurance

The agency began in 1931 in Kennedyville, Maryland and was founded by Bruce Dukes. The only carrier represented was Aetna (now Travelers Insurance). In 1963, the agency was purchased from Mr. Dukes by Robert A. Moore, and became known as the Dukes-Moore Insurance. The agency was operated by Robert and Marion Moore out of the Moore’s home also in Kennedyville. In 1983, Michael Moore joined the family agency. The firm continued to grow and in 1986, moved to Chestertown, Maryland the county seat of Kent County. In 1994, Dukes-Moore Insurance became Dukes-Moore Insurance Agency, Inc. with Michael Moore serving as President. In 1999, Robert and Marion retired and Michael Moore became the sole owner of Dukes-Moore Insurance Agency, Inc.
