Our mission is to promote and encourage independence for all people with disabilities.
We provide an array of services to people of all ages and with many types of disabilities. Our services include:

Veterans' Services
We provide these services to people in Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties. In addition, we provide Veteran Services to people in additional counties.
Through our mission-driven work we touch more than 10,000 people each year either through direct services or community education. DNMM is a consumer-run grassroots disability organization. We are a federally-funded Center for Independent Living.
We believe in the Independent Living Philosophy: people with disabilities are the best experts on their needs and therefore they must take the initiative - individually and collectively - in designing and promoting better solutions and must organize themselves for political power.
We believe that people with disabilities have the same right to participation, to the same range of options, degree of freedom, control and self-determination in every day life and life projects, that other citizens take for granted. Thus, we - as IL activists - seek the removal of infrastructure and institutional/attitudinal barriers in our communities.
DNMM is a CARF-accredited, United Way, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
