Choice was created in 2008 to fill a market need for quality kitchen upgrades in middle income homes. Dottie Laurinaitis (President of Distinctive Cabinet Design and wife of Anthony, founder of Choice Cabinet) began recognizing this market need after serving the kitchen design needs for upper income homes for over 20 years. This market need has been further enhanced from the reductions in price on granite, television shows such as HGTV that highlight kitchens routinely, the shift towards entertainment within the home which is centered around the kitchen area and the ROI for homeowners wishing to increase home market value.
The big box stores attempt to fill this market need by providing kitchens at a more reduced price point which is generally about $10,000 but the costs to conduct such remodels require loans from increasingly difficult sources to secure credit (lines of credit, second mortgages, etc). In addition, the lead time for cabinetry can be upwards of 10 plus weeks from time of order placement; a lengthy period of time to disrupt the most relied upon and functional room in a home. Choice Cabinet provides kitchens by focusing on three areas: affordability, quality, and availability. Typical kitchens that contain 12 to 14 cabinets can be purchased for as low as $5,000 which is affordable within the limits of a simple credit card transaction. In addition, Choice Cabinet offers many of the same features that custom cabinets contain and 7 different door styles that represent the most desired colors and door profile choices while making it easier to inventory with a JIT (just in time) response time.
