CeSViMa (Supercomputing and Visualization Center of Madrid) is a research center of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - UPM. CeSViMa provides resources for high performance computing and advanced interactive visualization, providing computer support to national and international research projects within four basic areas: Astronomy, Space and Earth Sciences, Biomedicine and Health Sciences, Chemistry and Materials and Physics and Engineering.
Currently, CeSViMa is integrated into the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES), is included into the directory of Infrastructures and Laboratories Network of the Community of Madrid and is a member of the e-Ciencia Spanish Network.
CeSViMa manages the most powerful supercomputer of Spain: Magerit. It also has been the Spanish supercomputer that has reached the second better position in history on the TOP500 list of world's most powerful supercomputers. Moreover, in November 2007, Magerit ranked position 275 on the Green500 list of more respectful supercomputers with environment.
The CeSViMa's research is centeredi in the initiative Cajal Blue Brain. This initiative gathers the spanish participation in the international project Blue Brain.
Finally, CeSViMa researches organizes the Master of Advanced Computing for Science and Engineering, or CACI, is offered mainly to graduates and professionals in the field of engineering, experimental sciences or mathematics.
