Camp Awakening is an integrated, outdoor recreation program for youth, ages 9-18, with physical disabilities. We operate out of two mainstream summer camps in Ontario – Kilcoo Camp for boys and Camp Oconto for girls. Our campers have a wide range of disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, juvenile arthritis, epilepsy, acquired brain injury, vision and hearing loss, and amputation.
Our campers succeed in conquering new challenges at their own pace and at their own level of ability. They enjoy wilderness adventures through our canoe-tripping program, and traditional in-camp activities such as swimming, sailing, kayaking, tennis, basketball, ropes course, horseback riding, archery and handicrafts. Enthusiastic support from our trained staff help campers to increase independence, learn new skills and build self-confidence.
Camp Awakening is a registered charity 11882 6577 RR0001.
