BU is recognised as the UK’s only Centre for Excellence in Media Practice and graduates from the National Centre for Computer Animation have worked on Hollywood films Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Star Wars and Madagascar.
Our research expertise includes forensic archaeology and crime scene science where staff are investigating genocide in Iraq, Bosnia and Rwanda and the implications of unearthing 40,000 year old human footprints in Mexico.
BU has strong links with the business world and we are a powerful player in South West England’s economic and cultural life. Bournemouth is renowned as an international centre playing host to major conferences, exhibitions and entertainment events.
