What Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota employees are saying...
-
One of the things that initially drew me to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota was its supportive environment for employee health. It’s clear that Blue Cross believes in making a difference in the well-being of the people throughout the state, but the company’s commitment to that goal starts with its own employees. The company offers on-site Weight Watchers meetings, fitness centers & classes, discounts at outside gyms, and other incentives to live a healthier life.

I admire that Blue Cross has a strong commitment to diversity, and provides opportunities to gain experience. Diversity within Blue Cross is demonstrated and supported through our Employee Resource Groups. These unique groups allow employees to learn about minority groups within the company, different cultural events around the world, and help us network with people across the organization. I had the pleasure of being a part of creating a new Employee Resource Group for our gen X/Y employees. Generation Blue has provided opportunities for me that I never imagined. I have been able to meet and present to top executives, plan networking events, and do fun activities like workout flash mobs. Continuous learning is my passion, and Blue Cross ERG's provide opportunities to help employees grow in their careers. As our world becomes more diverse, more learning opportunities are presented to us, thank you Blue Cross for creating a diverse environment for employees to learn and develop.
You will experience a commitment to diversity
Blue Cross celebrates diversity. By introducing diverse experiences and backgrounds to the company, we incorporate different perspectives and skills and achieve our goal of offering the best products and services on the market. Diversity, whether attributes or behaviors, will give us a competitive advantage and allow us to grow and be successful as a health company.
Blue Cross' diversity efforts are led by its Diversity Council, which is chaired by our CEO. The council oversees efforts to promote a fair and respectful work environment where employees can achieve their full potential. Much of the council's focus is on developing strategies and initiatives that positively impact Blue Cross as a company. These include growing a diverse group of employees, as well as developing multicultural markets and promoting supplier diversity. The Council also provides guidance and direction for Blue Cross' employee resource groups.
