Autism Spectrum News, a nonprofit quarterly publication which premiered in the fall of 2008, was developed to provide the autism community with a trusted resource of evidence-based information and education, the latest in scientific research, clinical treatment best practices, family issues, advocacy and vital community resources that are essential to the goal of unlocking the mysteries to the cause and treatment of autism spectrum disorders.
Autism Spectrum News distinguishes itself from other sources of information by avoiding the promotion of alternative therapies that have not been proven by sound scientific research. There is an overabundance of misinformation in print publication and on internet sites that offers false hope to confused and desperate parents of young and adult children diagnosed with autism. Autism Spectrum News stands apart from these groups by focusing on evidence-based treatments and best practices that have been proven through clinical research trials by members of the scientific community.
Before going to print, all submitted articles and advertisements are presented to our esteemed Editorial Board (http://tiny.cc/tw7m6), made up of leaders in the autism professional community. In keeping with the evidence-based mission of Autism Spectrum News, the Editorial Board will not accept articles or advertisements from individuals or organization that offer information and/or treatments of unproven efficacy.
