ASIFA-East is the Eastern U.S. chapter of ASIFA*, based in New York City, hosting monthly screenings of animated films along with other events of interest to the animation community.
It also conducts a yearly animation festival and awards ceremony, judged democratically by members in good standing, which provides a unique showcase for the latest independent and commercial animation.
ASIFA-East is organized and run by a board of volunteers.

*ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film d' Animation) was formed in 1960 by an international group of animators to coordinate and increase world-wide visibility of animated film. ASIFA's membership includes animation professionals and fans from more than 50 countries. ASIFA sponsors animation festivals in Annecy, Ottawa, and Hiroshima.
