ArmedZilla is a new social network and safe online community for America's veterans, service members, family, friends, organizations and supporters. We invite every American to come together on ArmedZilla and actively play a role in changing the way we connect with and support America’s military community.
ArmedZilla is the brainchild of an Iraq combat veteran who had his own struggles adjusting to life after military service. After six years in the Army - including three tours in Iraq with the 10th Special Forces Group - David Johnson returned to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. As a combat veteran, he found it difficult to relate to his old friends; he wanted to return to the service-driven culture of the Army.
David didn't quit, though - he stuck it out at Arizona State University and graduated in 2010. The challenges he experienced got him thinking about how he could make transitioning easier for the thousands of his brothers and sisters getting out of the military every year.
This idea kept growing as he talked to more and more isolated and struggling veterans. In 2010, he created a simple website aimed at connecting veterans. The groundswell of support convinced David of his new mission's importance, and he founded ArmedZilla, which is now on track to become America's largest military and veteran support community.
