The ALS Therapy Alliance's Researching a Cure Campaign is entering its 11th year starting in 2012. More than a decade's worth of great strides has been made in leading-edge research to find a cure for this devastating and fatal disease known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's Disease.
To date, there is no known cure and the cause is unknown, but there is much hope that a one will be found.
Our scientists, researchers, clinicians and doctors from around the world have worked tirelessly along side others from The Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS), Project A.L.S., The Angel Fund and The ALS Association (ALSA) running diagnostic tests, conducting clinical trails and pushing research forward.
The ALS Therapy Alliance's partners have been pivotal in providing additional research and insight into potential treatments for ALS and other related diseases.
These co-sponsored projects have been made possible due to funds raised through our annual Researching a Cure fundraising campaign with CVS/pharmacy.
Currently, CVS/pharmacy is the largest corporate donor to the ALS Therapy Alliance. By asking its customers to donate to the cause for the last 10 years, CVS/pharmacy and its team have helped raise over $27 million for the ALS Therapy Alliance and its participating members.
