ADETA is a voluntary, nonprofit association of individuals and organizations interested in developing and promoting distributed education in Alberta. Members come from the K-12, post-secondary, and corporate sectors.
The purpose of the Association is to actively foster collaboration, cooperation, and best practices using emerging technologies among those in the K-12, post-secondary and workplace sectors involved with distributed education and technology in western Canada,
The Association has the following goals:
1. Facilitate the exchange of a broad range of information by establishing a variety of effective communication linkages.
2. Initiate and support professional development activities in distributed education and technology.
3. Promote contribution to the community of practice in distributed education and technology.
4. Develop closer liaisons with stakeholders in the field of distributed education and technology.
The Association will work towards attaining these goals by following a philosophy which includes the following elements: quality, flexibility/accessibility, equity/openness, improvement, involvement, transferability/viability, cooperation.
