Big Box Containers was formed in Johannesburg in 1997, and opened a Cape Town branch, now our head office, in 1999. In April, 2007, the existing management and Private Equity firm Spirit Capital, acquired a 100% interest in Big Box Containers (Pty) Ltd. Through this acquisition, Big Box Containers obtained BEE credentials through the investment company Thembeka Capital, a shareholder in Spirit Capital.
Since its inception, Big Box Containers has provided both sales and rental options of new and second-hand marine containers, to the South African market. Big Box Containers also specialises in the modification of containers, to offer clients an original solution to meet their needs.
With over 300 years of combined experience in the container industry, our staff is well versed to handle all aspects of the domestic container business, and provide sound advice to our clients.
