In 1936 Tony Cech founded Cech Scale Company with nothing more than a set of test weights, simple tools, and the drive to provide the best scale services possible to every customer. Apprenticed in Germany as a scale machinist, Tony was always able to install and repair anything his customers asked. His specialized skills and understanding of how to keep scales functioning properly helped him create lasting business relationships with Michigan’s leading agricultural businesses.
Today, Cech Corporation is run by Tony Cech’s daughter, Hilde McDonald, in Saginaw. Hilde takes pride in the great expansion of Cech from agriculture based customers to include industrial, commercial, medical and scientific weighing applications. She has also established a Livonia division of Cech, which serves the Detroit area and furthers Cech Corporation’s reach to Michigan businesses.
