The Watson School of Education was rated Exemplary by the North Carolina State Board of Education and is the third largest producer of traditionally prepared teachers in the state (DPI 2005). We have excellent partnerships with businesses, school systems and community colleges in our region.
The primary mission of the Donald R. Watson School of Education is to develop highly competent professionals to serve in teaching and other educational leadership roles in southeastern North Carolina, the state, and nation.
Located on the campus of UNC Wilmington, the Watson School of Education houses the North Carolina Teachers Legacy Hall, Betty Stike Education Laboratory, Curriculum Materials Center and regional teacher support programs.
